Residence permits for foreigners are obtained by applying through the e-ikamet system, making an appointment and then going to the Provincial Immigration Office with the necessary documents on the appointment day and time.

Foreigners who want to obtain a residence permit will first apply through the e-ikamet website. This application is a preliminary application and the foreigner is given an appointment day and time as a result of the application. The foreigner completes the application by going to the Provincial Immigration Office with the necessary documents on the determined appointment day and time.

Residence permit applications are not yet accepted from abroad. Foreigners whose residence permits have expired during their stay abroad will be able to apply for a residence permit electronically after entering Turkey according to the visa regime between the two countries. Applications can also be made through the foreigner's legal representative or lawyer. However, in this case, the foreigner may be asked to be present at the application.

When foreigners who will apply for a residence permit need to obtain documents from their own countries and submit them to the provincial immigration offices, it is mandatory to submit these documents with an apostille and notarized Turkish translation.
